Imperial Palace East Gardens in Autumn - An Escape from the City

The Tokyo Imperial Palace East Gardens are a part of the inner palace area where you can visit as they are open to the public, and the best time to do so is definitely in autumn! Instead of greenery that you'll get bored of after a while, autumn colours up the palace gardens.

Initially, I wanted to visit the Imperial Palace but did not realize that an advance reservation was needed and was too late to sign up for the tour for the same-day registration. Hence, the only other thing to do there is to visit the East Gardens.

Located at the heart of Tokyo, the Imperial Palace East Garden is undoubtedly the best escape from the bustling city. It is really quiet inside the garden, you don't get to hear any sounds from the busy roads out there!

Because it was so peaceful inside the garden, I wanted to bring my laptop along to do some work and just relax at the bench. But the weather tends to be chilly to a certain extent so it was tough to stay outdoors for long.

Strolling in the garden, I got some really lovely pictures since every corner of the garden was so pretty and colourful.

As the clock ticked to 4pm, I had to leave the garden because the palace gardens are closed at that hour. The last picture is the view at the exit of the Imperial Palace East Gardens. Inside out, the garden did not fail to impress me. Do visit this garden if you have a chance!

// Check out the swan in the picture. A ton of people actually gathered to take picture of the swan, and I could stop myself but to take one picture too!

*Do note that the garden closes at 4pm in autumn, so remember to plan your trip down earlier in the day!
