After running out of my serum last week, I've decided to try out a new serum today and it so happened to be the Pure Shots Night Reboot Serum from YSL. The serum is unique such that it is a bi-phase serum that gently exfoliates, refines and moisturizes the skin.
The formula which is a blend of glycolic acid with moisturizing oils and moonlight cactus flower requires you to shake well before use. When applied to the skin, it ended on an oily note for me. It was also slightly tingly on my skin since my skin is slightly more sensitive from the use of retinol. I was initially skeptical about their claims because my skin doesn't really do well with oils. But I decided to just leave it in regardless.
That said, the serum came with a light fragrant which made it felt more luxurious on the skin. So I completed my skincare routine and went straight to sleep.
Waking up the next day, I was surprised at the results! It really did what it claims to do. My skin felt baby smooth and most importantly, my pores looked much more refined. Immediately I was sold just by using it for one night! I also felt that my skin looks much more radiant than the night before. And the oils in the product didn't give me any breakouts too.
When I think of shots, I think of alcohol shots, something that would give you results immediately. And this was one serum that delivered!
I was extremely pleased with the results! Although the price point is pretty steep at $135, it does what it claims and that's what you’re really paying for. I would highly recommend this for those who can afford it and like to own a luxurious serum in their skincare routine. Occasionally using products that have glycolic acid will help the rest of your skincare products to absorb better.
P.S: If I find cheaper alternatives to this, I'll definitely share it with you guys!
