3 days of Kyoto and Osaka in Autumn
After spending 6 days in Japan, I was feeling quite tired when I head down to Osaka. Yes, I know! Travelling is fun, but waking up early everyday and exploring new places will use up a ton of energy too.
When I was planning my trip to Japan, I decided to spend less time in Osaka because Osaka had less scenic places. And since Kyoto and Osaka was only an hour train ride away, I've decided to just stay in Osaka and head to Kyoto for two days. Instead of having to move from Osaka to Kyoto, which I feel will be extremely time consuming.
I stayed at Hotel Mystays Shin Osaka Conference Center for my 4 nights stay in Osaka. Although the room was small (most places in Japan are small), it was quite a nice stay, especially because my sister and I prefer to have our own toilet and at the same time go for a budget stay. The stay summed up to SGD235 for 4 nights which was quite reasonable since it was a hotel.

DAY 1
Osaka Castle + Susumu Yakiniku
We headed over to Osaka Castle (read more about the history of Osaka Castle here) around noon time and spent our whole afternoon there. On the way from our hotel to the train station, we saw this amazing view by the river!
We arrived at the Osaka Castle some time later and checked out the gardens first before heading into the building.
Inside the castle, there are miniatures, warrior's armours (no photography allowed for that) etc, and some history (to be honest, I'm really not the history kind of person so I did not read up on any of it).
On the top floor of the castle, it was freezing cold when the wind blew, since it was autumn and the sun was setting. But check out these photos! No filter on the photos but they look AMAZING. (I got blown away by the view instead!)
Around 5pm, we had to leave the building because they were closing. The sky was also turning dark.
After that we head down to have some steak at Susumu Yakiniku. I really love this place because the steak was really tasty and you get to grill it yourself! (how cool is that!) It has a standing bar restaurant concept.
I could stop ordering for more steaks!
We also ordered some intestines (actually we ordered by accident because we didn't know how to read Japanese) and got some drinks.
Would highly recommend any steak lover to head over to check out the restaurant.
DAY 2
Fushimi Inari + Tekomai + Gyoza no Ohsho
On Day 2, I went to Kyoto and spent my afternoon at Fushimi Inari. Check out my short video at Fushimi Inari!
Ended my Fushimi Inari trip with the temple.
For dinner, we went to hunt for the all-you-can-eat-steak in Kyoto and stumbled upon Tekomai. I've never been to other steak buffet restaurants so I'm not sure if Tekomai is the best one out there, but there was a queue for the restaurant (queue means good, right? haha) and their pricing is reasonable although that means that it's not the most premium part of the beef you're getting.
Me and my sister reached around 7pm ++ but the wait time was till 9pm. So I couldn't wait because I was quite hungry already so we went to get some gyōza from Gyoza no Ohsho. The gyōza skin was crispy yet juicy on the inside. Affordable and tasty!
DAY 3
Arashiyama + Tsujiri + Nana's Green Tea
Again, I head to Kyoto for another scenic trip in Arashiyama. Check out my dedicated post on Arashiyama here.
After that we spent some time at Tsujiri. I'm a super big fan of green tea and I must say, their green tea is very rich in taste, be it in their ice-cream or their drinks or even their cookies. I've been trying green tea desserts everytime I get a chance and this is a MUST TRY!
We checked out Nana's Green Tea later and had our dinner there. I ordered another green tea dessert but like I said, Tsujiri is still the best!
And that's how we put an end to our 3 day trip in Osaka and Kyoto!
