Sled Your Way Through Fairytale Land - Things You Don't Want To Miss In Alaska
Alaska's flat tires. I couldn't recall how long the ride was but it was definitely a long one in the cold. I'm not complaining though. Dog sledding is something I would highly recommend and go for in a heartbeat. Imagine watching the cartoon Frozen, being in pure white snow was a dream come through here. We rode through the jungles, saw infinite empty land filled with white snow and went up and down hills. If this is not fairytale land, I don't know what it is.
At some point, I actually took off my gloves to take out my phone from my pocket. Just within 30 seconds (not exaggerating at all), my hands felt extremely cold to the extent that I couldn't even feel my last finger. Quickly, I put on my gloves and started massaging my pinky to make sure it is still there. Only after about 5 minutes, can I feel my fingers. Phew!
Yes. All wrapped. The tour do equip us with extra winter jackets, hats and boots. During the dog sledding, my mouth/lips suffered the most as it is still extremely cold even though I've gotten a face mask.
Even a GoPro can't survive the drastic change of temperature, so don't expect too much photos from your devices, because my iphone died too in the cold.
If you're travelling to Alaska, this is a MUST do. I doubt that you are mistreating these dogs too as they were specially trained for dog sledding and some even go for dog sledding competitions. So just go for it!
