Journey to Clearer Pores - The Body Shop Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Clearing Mask Review

After using The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask, I was extremely excited to get my hands on the other series of masks that were available. Especially since this time I'll be trying the Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Clearing Mask and I am a super big fan of matcha.

The mask doesn't look super green here.
Due to the content of matcha tea leaves, the mask is light green in color. Upon application, I can feel a cooling effect on my skin which felt great. However, on the flip side, the smell of the mask smells quite grassy, like pure blended wheat grass juice (if you ever smelt one before), which kinda got on my nerves as I dislike the smell of raw grass.

Unlike the charcoal mask that The Body Shop has, this mask does not harden/dry up and also doesn't tighten your skin. This means that, while using the mask, I can still have facial movements (eat, smile, drink)!

How the mask looked like before application

The results of the mask showed quickly just after about 10 minutes of applying it. Washing the mask of was really easy since it did not harden up so there's no need to try to soften the mask before washing it off. My pores did felt clearer and my face was more radiant after the mask session. The cooling effect stayed on for about 5-10 minutes even after the mask was washed off.

Personally, I will still stick to using the Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask because it serves multi purposes unlike this mask which only clear pores and make you look more radiant. Mainly also because I have acne prone skin and have bigger pores, so I would go for a mask that tightens up my pores.

That said, the charcoal mask is definitely more harsh to the skin compared to this mask so I believe that it is not recommended to be used on a daily basis. However, since this mask is softer to the skin, it would be ideal to frequently use it. If you live in a busy city, this mask might just be it.
